Default Plumbing advice, tie into house drain?

Hey,

Any reason i cant run a waste water line into the house drain marked in the photo?

Would probably want to run a 1/2" line there in case i need to do quick bucketless water changes and also a 1/4" line for RODI waste water line.

Thanks.

Nope, no issue at all. Just make sure you glue in the proper fitting. You don't want sewer gases venting into your home, or worse yet, liquids.

No problem. Use ABS with ABS glue, rubber with a hose clamp, or PVC with ABS to PVC glue for the first fitting tying into your pipe.

Hey Shao,
Here's a pic of a drain saddle fitting for the RO/DI drain line on my ABS drain that I had my plumber install for me when we had our house built.

By the looks of where you are tying in, I would say yes, you would need a p trap.

Ah yes, i forgot about those.
Or maybe i blocked it out of memory, they just scare me. Automatic Irrational response to it. My brain just says it will leak. Lol

I suppose i can use that for the RODI drain, but also for the RODI input, of course on a water line though?

It's just an option to consider... certainly the saddle drain valve. You may have to check with your local building code to see if saddle valves are permitted on water supply lines in your area.

An ABS dishwasher drain fitting would be pretty good for attaching a water change drain hose.

I tied my sump into the drain in my fish room (I actually put 3 accesses to my floor drains in my fish room) but it was tied just above the p-trap underneath the concrete from all three as you need to prevent sewer gas.
