Default How/when do I feed reef roids and suppliments??

Hi guys this is my first tank with a sump/fuge/skimmer and I own reef roids, kent kalkwasser mix and ZoPlan diet. I am wondering how often to add these and do I do it at night and do I have to turn the skimmer off? Any advice would be great. My tank doesn't have a ton of corals but my MH isnt firing up so "maybe ballast?'' so the only lighting for now is vho. Thanks

I cant speak for kalk or zoplan as I have never used either, but in terms of reef roids, I do this every 2-4 days, you dont need a lot, I cant give a specific measurement, I just dip the end of a spoon handle into the reef roids, and take out a bit, (maybe 1/8 of a tsp? not sure) then I mix it into some tank water and pour it in beside a power head so it gets all through out the DT usually around dinner time cause its convenient for me, also all the corals will be open at this point, aside from some lps that will extend the tentacles at night to feed

Cool

What type of corals? Depending on the corals you have and how many would dictate when and how often you feed. If you don't have enough corals to eat the reefroids they will just make a mess of your water quality.

The kalkwasser is used to increase calcium and alkalinity. So you add it as needed based on testing.

good point, I know my zoas/sopties and lps have responded well to it, not sure about sps yet as its fairly new to the system, like said above, to feed too much or too often, otherwise your water quality will go down hill. my dose that I use (1/8 tsp or so) is more like just a pinch
