Default WTB 180G tank

I'm looking for a 180G tank with stand and/ canopy preferably. Would like it to be drilled for reef and have two acrylic overflows in the corners if possible. If anyone knows of anything matching that description could they please let me know.

I really like that 180G Starphire for sale unfortunately I don't want an hang on overflow.

Thanks.

Actually it's not a typical "hang-on" overflow on that tank. It's an external overflow so the overflow box is outside the tank instead of inside. That's a way better idea if u ask me. It means u have more room inside the tank.

You may also want to look at Ocean Aquatics website (Wendell, or Zulu Principal here).

I'm not sure if it's still available but he used to have under pre-owned tanks a really nice deal for a 180gal plumbed Tru-View tank with stand and canopy. It did not look like the canopy was tall enough for halides in the picture though, but even that could be a simple modification.

HTH,

Rob

That's true except I don't really like the look of the hang on overflow. I don't mind the look of two symmetrical overflows inside the tank.

They do still have it but it's acrylic. I was really interested in it until I found that out about it. I really want to stick with glass. I may be a little picky, but if i'm going to sink a ton of money into this hobby, i'm going to use all the stuff I like the most.

Well I agree 100% choose the tank that best suits you and don't compromise, especially with a tank of that size! FWIW I am a happy user of an acrylic tank and love it, mostly because it's light and I move a lot!

But like you, my next tank once I'm settled will be glass!

I agree - the tank is only about 10% of the total cost of a reef tank - even if you get a custom Starphire tank. Its amazing how the other bills add up.

I'm getting a 180G starphire tank built for me with an external overflow and a C shaped stand that i'm going to use as a room separater. I can't wait.
