open maze brain dying help

I purchased a brain from the local fish store and within days it has started to turn blackish gray and fold over does anyone have any ideas

Could you post a pic? I am a bit confused because maze brains are closed brains, and maze brains won't fold over. I think your ID is incorrect, so it's makin diagnosis kinda vague.
