![]() is it possible to patch over a crack in glass?
I have a crack in a sump. The crack is completely contained in the first baffle; and is vertical. The baffle compartment is roughly about 3 gallons in volume. I have enough scrap glass that I can patch over both sides of the crack. I have patched over drilled holes in the past but never a crack itself. Is this a bad idea? I.e., is the only hope for "real" salvage of the tank by replacing the whole panel? (Which is obviously possible, but more work due to needing to remove and then later replace the baffles that are there already.)

![]() I have a nice long crack in my refuge and put a piece of glass over one side with a nice thick layer of silicon and never had a problem with it since. Not the nicest looking but it worked.

![]() I don't see any forseable problems with it Tony. Especially if the tank is not a display and therefore not going to be holding it's full capacity in water.
