Marlin65 is on a distinguished road
Default Yellow Tang fin damage

I picked up a Yellow Tang from JL last month. They gave him to me for free as someone had brought him back as he was beaten on by other fish. He was near dead very skinny and had most of his top fins ripped of and some of his tail fin.
I have been nursing him back to health it took a bit to get him eating but he has put his weight back on.
I was wondering if his fins will grow back, and how long that would take?
I have him in QT right now but he will need to go into my 180 with another Tang (tomini) and my Copperbanded. I want him to be able to hold his own when I transfer them all so would like him to have all his fins back before I move him.

I think fins are sort of like fingernails, they do sort of grow back in time, as long as the fish otherwise is eating and gets healthy and strong and stuff. Good luck!
