Default Yellow fungas with shoots growing out of it???

I have discovered some spongy like fungas that is yellow/orange in a shaded area on my rocks. It's got strands almost like arms growing out of it. Can't find any info on yellow algae of any sort. Anyone know what it is?

It is a type of sponge. Harmless filter feeder.

Good to know. It has spread on one of my rocks. Will it take over?

It is a possibility, but highly unlikely. There is something about your tank that it likes. Personally I love the look of them. There is also a common blue sponge that is IMO extremely attractive when it grows on LR.
