Default ARM reactor media

I'm starting to think that a coarser reactor media might have better long term useage. Theoretically a smaller grain would have more surface area to break down yet it can become more compacted in less time. I realise that this is an old subject but does anybody else find that ARM seems to accumulate the fine stuff (sludge) after say 8-12 months?

I think it's fine here. My media doesn't last that long, as I toss the leftovers every second fill. I think you'll see this with any media, but maybe not. I've never used any others.
