Default LF High Quality Carbon

I haven't been running carbon for awhile, and with great success after a couple long years of SPS issues/death. Was running Kent Carbon previously, and recently put some back in (after xmas) to have my troubles start returning... RTN then death of SPS. Been 1-2 months with no carbon again, and tank is doing well, once again... After reading the thread about the Kent recall, I have determined that it was that brand of carbon causing my problems all the long. DAMN YOU KENT!!!

I do want to use carbon again, even though the tank is doing well. As others stated, carbon is a necessity to remove things that skimming and water changes just can't fully remove. So what do you recommend? I do want to try ROX, but don't wish to order from BRS, just in case I don't like.

Does anyone have ROX or top notch carbon, where I can buy .5-1 litre worth to try out? Local please... If so, please let me know.

If anyone can also support the use of carbon, please let me know why. Same goes for not using.

Thanks,

Rick

Kent Carbon Issue Here http://www.kentmarine.com/news/news-...arine-reef.htm

I use Sechem Matrix, a little expensive but I like.

We just got the Brightwell Carbonit-P http://brightwellaquatics.com/products/carbonitp.php

I have yet to add it to the site nor do I have a price yet but it think it might be less expensive than the Seachem. Both very good choices.

My very dear friend Rick, are you out of your mind today ?
If you really want to use it, I have heard you can use carbon between water change once a month, just for a day then throw it away. I am doing that method right now to help control the smell from my heavy feeding habit and I am using Marineland Premium carbon with no side effect YET.

If you want to try out my carbon, I can send a sample enough for you to use for a couple months before you decide to buy it. Let me know Rick, it is free
