Default Marineland Stealth Recall

I know there have been issues with these heaters, and in case this has not been posted already, here is an official recall posted on BAs site.

http://www.bigalscanada.com/recalls/...ers_Recall.pdf

Fire risk. It lists the model numbers so I am sure no matter where you bought it, if its on the list approach the dealer.

I wonder... does anyone care enough to read signatures if you make them really small? I would not. I would probably moan and complain, read three words and swear once or twice. But since you made it this far, please rate my builds.

I have had two that failed on me Needless to say I will never buy a stealth heater ever again. The last one had black smoke coming out of it into my tank

I have one downstairs. Taking it out today. Might as well get the relaplacement. It goes in my reservoir of salt mix.

Marineland will replace them or send a cheque for what they think they're worth, or depending on the store they may do store credit if you bought them locally.

Just watch what the give you for a replacement. They didn't want my Stealth back, just sent me a Visa-Therm 400W that crapped out in 1 week and caused RTN of a couple of corals. Going to take them both back.

I do not have a receipt.

Anyone think this is an issue?

Not here, I think if a shop carries the Marineland products it shouldn't be a problem. I replaced mine this AM at Petsmart, but all they had to offer was a Top Fin.... woooooo nice. In hindsight I should have had the manufacturer send me a refund.
