Default HOW? Algea growth using GFO and carbon dosing...

SO WTF!!! Ive been having some weird massive algea growth lately, mostly on the back glass... Never had anything up till now... I have been using GFO and vodka dosing since day one and have NEVER had a phoshpate or nitrate reading since my tank was started again. How is this even freakin possible?

hmm maybe something died in your tank and the algae is consuming the nitrates before you can mesure it?

When I had a lot of caulerpa in my tank my nitrates always showed 0 in my tests, but the algae grew like mad, so having a test showing 0 is not really an indication I think.

Even so, isnt the bacteria supposed to use up the nutrients before the algea can use it?
Ill have to check on the dead critter possibly tho...
