![]() Nice little write up here from GlassMunky on retrofitting a 14G bio cube with LEDs.
http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/...ood-build.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------ So after my biocubes stock lights got fried from a flood, I decided to upgrade to LED's. I got the 12 LED Kit and the dimmer and fans from Modular LED. Everything was super easy to hook up, even for a complete DIY-idiot like myself. After about an hour, everything was up and running. These things are really bright. Thery have been on the tank for about 2 weeks now and are up to full strength, and holy cow, the cheato in the tank EXPLODED with new growth, and all the corals no longer stretch way up for light. Anyway heres some pics of everything. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Right now, i am using the optics that came with the kit, but im thinking about taking them off cause i like the spread better without them, its too blue now, is that ok for a tank this shallow? or the other option, which im still considering anyway just for more light would be to add another 4 White LED's (maybe the new XPE or XPG).... Anyway, I Love the new lights for this tank and especially love how i can controll how bright they are. Also the customer service from these guys is top notch! (I even got a cadbury chocolate bar with my order ![]()
