Default Looking for skimmer pump

My skimmer pump seems to have died on me. I tried calling around to LFS but I'm not having much luck. I have also e-mailed SWC about a replacement pump and I'm waiting to hear back from them and I'm not sure how long it'll take to get one shipped. My skimmer is a SWC 250 cone skimmer and it's an askoll pump. The sticker on it says powerjet 1600. The needle wheel etc. seems to be fine, I just need the pump. I don't know much about equipment or plumbing etc. so a direct pump match would be ideal. Here's some pic.'s of my pump

Or if it's going to be awhile before I can find a pump does anyone have a skimmer I could borrow in the mean time, or a large skimmer for sale at a decent price. If the skimmer is an in-sump skimmer the foot print needs to be similar to this: Foot Print in inches (L x W x H): 11.75 x 16.5 x 24

Double check with SWC, but I think you can replace the pump with a Sicce PSK-2500 which should be easier to find. I'm not sure if you would have to mod the skimmer at all to fit the Sicce in there or if it would just fit right in. If you do go with the Sicce, replace the needle wheel with a Red Dragon or you may have re-start issues.

Myself I would either buy a brand new Laguna off ebay for $120+$20 for shipping or like Asmodeus said buy a Bubble Blaster which uses the exact same Laguna motorblock but approx $100 more going that route. Personally I will never ever own a Sicce psk-2500 ever again. RC has lots of info on them!

Did you have issues? Did you try the Red Devil?
