Default 65 gallon build!

Hey everyone,
just starting up my first ever tank journal/build thread. kicking off my second ever tank, and im hoping to avoid many of the problems i ended up with on my first one.
SO>... if any of you notice something wierd, assinine, unexplainable, or just plain stupid that i am about to do, please speak up loudly so i may reconsider my actions. :-)

lets get started...

I have already purchased a 65 gallon tank from a fellow Canreefer, who graciously offered to drive it 150kms for a frag. I owe you one Grizz..It is currently in Kevin's capable hands over at RC for hole cutting and overflow installation.

Completely re-finished stand as well! Almost sad that im going to have to drill a few holes in it.

I also have already procured a Sunlight Supply Tek 6-bulb T-5 HO fixture with bulbs included. was almost brand new and had the box for it too! thanks for the great deal Carmen!

Will hopefully have the tank back in a few days, and get going on the plumbing! Stay Tuned!

That is a good looking stand if I do say so myself, sweet light to. I will be watching as well can't wait to see what you do with it. It was no problem bringing it down had to go look at a new tank in Calgary anyways.

Good luck with the build.

So, the tank is almost ready for pickup fro RC with holes and overflow installed so i decided to start planning my sump. I think i've decided on an Aqua-C EV-120 skimmer. mostly for its incredibly short stature and alleged ability to keep up with most of the good tower versions.

http://www.jlaquatics.com/phpstore/s..._ID=ps-acev120

If anyone has one used, or has used one. im interested in speaking with you...

I've laid out the sump so i can maintain an 11" water level for the skimmer (which ill have to prop up 3 inches as it cannot sit in water any deeper than 8).
The left compartment is drain/refuge with a DSB and probably some LR/rubble over top of it to catch any of the big chunks. Going to use some PVC with holes drilled to spread the water evenly overtop of the dsb.
Second compartment will be for the skimmer. followed by a bubble trap and the return section.

any thoughts on the layout would be greatly appreciated before i go and get the glass... :-) on that note, anyone know a good shop to get it from?
