Default My 130 Gallon Starfire Cube Tank

I thought I would document the journey of my first reef tank.
The tank itself measures 36”L x 32”W x 28H and has Starfire glass on the front and both sides. It also has an external overflow and is drilled for a close loop that will be run by a Reflo Dart pump.

My sump made entirely from black glass

Now the fun begins

I purchsed all my live rock from Kevin at Red Coral and he took over an hour of his time and designed the following aquascape with a nice lagoon and numerous caves. Thanks Kevin

Indeed, welcome. Looking forward to the pics!

I had a '67 Mustang when I was in high school and university. Best year ever for Mustangs!! Is yours a coupe or fastback or 'vert? I would love to see some pics of that too.

Default 67 coupe

Thanks Delphinus and Lastlight.
Delphinus, I have an all original (except new tires) 67 coupe with rare factory option rear end. Candy apple red with 108,000 miles. Only 250 were made with these specs.
I will try to post pics of that to.
P.S. you should have never sold yours!

Yeah, I don't consider that one of my finer moments. You don't want to know the price I ended up selling it at.. My parents were never keen on it and kept pressuring me to "get rid of that thing." Although I know that sounds lame NOW, but .. well, maybe I'll just leave the insanities of my family dynamics out of this. But the other problem was I was 22 years old, broker than stink, economically things weren't great at the time, and it needed a lot of body work in its future that was completely beyond my means at the time. (It had been big time bondo job in the 80's and it was all falling off and bubbling up in spots.) I've been meaning to find another one day.. maybe if I ever finish my building my tank. There's actually a car thread in here.. if you want to post it there. http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/sho...d.php?t=50758&

And, uh, sorry for diluting your tank thread build BTW. Can't wait to hear more about the tank!

I will have to start one for my Mustang.
I hope one day you will find another mustang, the good ones are getting rare.

Ok I haven't seen that many pvc unions on 1000 gallon builds!! That is IMPRESSIVE! You have unions on unions so you can remove unions!

Really nice looking tank. Who built it?

My friend owns a plumbing and mechanical company so I took advantage of the wholesale pricing!
