I've always used the outdoor timers for car, lights, ect. Never had one fail. The only problems are : 1 hour increment setting, No backup memory. I always set one wait half hour set other to counter the 1 hour setting. Canadian tire sells them.

Had exact same experience. Since then bought some $5 light timers at Home Depot. They have 15 minute incriments and haven't had a failure since. I am toying with getting some digital ones, but if it isn't broke, why fix it?

i have a few of them but never really had any problems, i assume you have the digital ones?
i would just check all the stttings makeshure you have the mode on auto and it set too run on all 7 days and make shure all 7 days are programed with the right hours, ive accidently got the am and pm mixed up once or twice and 1 day a week the fish did an all nighter

Mine has been working great, after I finally figured out how to program it. I have multiple schedules. On weekdays, on at 6:00 a.m. so I can visit with my fish while I have a coffee, off at 7:45 a.m., on again at 2:30 p.m. and off at 9:30 p.m. The weekend schedule is on at 8:00 a.m. and off at 10:00 p.m.

Speaking of timers...if any of you have the following timer (I know I have two) then you should check to make sure they are not part of this recall.

Just a heads up.
