Default Removing Trim

I am interested in removing the plastic trim on the top of a tank so i can put some euro-bracing on a tank for extra support for a wavebox. Anyone just cut it off?

Thanks

if it's plastic? then ya back cut it, to cut the silicone underneath it then pull it up from the corners. Be carefull some mfg don't finish the glass so good under the brace and it can be very sharp.
