Hey guys,

I have some feather dusters in my tank, and as of late one of them split into two. I was quite happy since they are pretty much some of the first visible hitchhikers other than the brittle stars and some other guys.

However, i looked into the tank today and noticed that one of them ( the biggest one ) seems to have closed it's main hole ( the section of the tube that it comes out of ).

Is this normal? What's happening?

good to hear. They will close up here and there, especially if they get spooked. It is normal.

I was lucky enough to get a few hitchhiking with my rock as well. They tend to pop in and out on a regular basis. I notice at night when I shine the flashlight in the tank they quickly pop back in they're hole when the light reaches them.
