Looks good! How is the water getting back up to the tank? I like how you incorporated the fuge into the sump...but I can't quite figure out how you pump the water into each end? Do you have dual overflows, and one overflows one way, the other the other way? Then return pump is in the centre? What size is that sump? Did you build it yourself? How cut the glass for ya?

You just gave me a new idea for my new tank...

Very clean!

What is the perforated tube in the back right corner? What is it for?

The water drains into the sump on the right hand side, goes through the baffles and into the center when the return pump is. The pump returns most of the water back to the tank, and some to the fuge on the left. The line to the fuge has a ball valve so I can control amount of flow. The fuge also drains into the center. I only have one overflow. A CPR 100 Wier style. The return pump is a Quiet One 3000. The sump is a 25 gallon tank. The glass is 1/4" I bought off speedy glass for $8 a sheet (11 3/4 x 11 and 1 piece 11 3/4 by 13). You cant see the return line going back to the tank as it goes through a hole in the back of the stand. I also placed a check valve on the return line, just in case. The baffles are 3/4" apart and I used 1" schedule 40 pipe as the outlet on the pump is 1". was just easier that way. The tube in the back is 3" pvc that the overflow hose drains into, drilled with lots of little holes and LR rubble in it to reduce micro bubbles. Works good and also holds the hose in place. Might replace the flex hose with 1.5" pvc at a later date.

Ooooooooooooooh, I get it now! Awesome design!!! Have you tested the check valve? I see there's no room for overflow during power outtage!

Yeppers, when I turn everything off the water level rises about 2". The tank is 16" deep and the high water level is 12" so that leaves me 4" of flooding space. I'm also gonna drill a hole just below the tank water line on the return just in case the check valve should ever fail. If the tank level ever drops below that hole, it will suck air and break the siphon to the sump.

Where did you get your check valve from? I'm gonna incorporate one to my sump.
