Default weird rash

I've been letting a small piece of rock sit in fresh water for a few days but it started smelling pretty rancid (naturally) so I dumped it out. Some water got on me now I have a rash. Tank water doesn't normally bother me, could there be something worse in the rancid water?

PS - I was leaving it in fresh water to kill some aiptasia.

i wouldnt be overly concerned if the rash isnt that bad. run it under cool water and wash with soap. make there's no crap or detritus in there. use rubbing alcohol with cotton balls or something soft. let someone else know what happened and if it starts gettin bad go see a doc.

what might have caused it? who knows. might just be an allergic reaction to some chemical that was released during the FW soak (Lord knows a lot will have died on there). might even be a bacterial infection. in most cases it shouldnt be severe and should go away within a short period of time. hth.
