Default Something to sift sand that won't jump out, or eat the microfauna?

I'm contemplating putting sand back in my tank now that things are stable. Basically I miss the microfauna I had with sand, and I did like the look when it was clean.

What kinda animals are good at sifting sand that won't jump out of the tank, and won't eat the microfauna in the sand? Heard most starfish will eat the beneficial stuff in the sand. I also don't want to cover/uncover my tank every day to keep a blenny from jumping out. (suspended lighting, no hood)

Is there anything else out there I could use?

One person says they rake their sand, but that'd be yet ANOTHER regular task added to the list...

I have a few hundred thousand hitchhiker cerith snails combing my sand. They do a pretty darn good job too but they keep climbing up the glass at night, making it hard to see into the tank

Conches are good also.
However unless you are in florida and can get bio loaded sand full of worms i would go BB.
