Default New tube worm grow out

Hello,

Just notice something neat in my sump recently. There some of what looks like to be tiny tube worms growing upside down along the wall of my sump.

I use tube worms, instead of feather duster, or fan worm because that's what all my fishing buddies call them. Besides, it's no ordinary feather duster and fan worm. It looks different than the ones typically found in stores.

But what I found interesting is the fact they are growing upside down. Maybe a way to avoid light but I wonder why.

The back of some of my rock is covered with them. Also the yhave a huge network on the back glass of the tank.

Agreed, they seem to prefer protected, lower light areas.

Hey Doug,

Now that you mention it. I remember seeing them at the back of some of the rocks where it is not exposed.

Some of my rock, thats 10 years old [with me], is so covered and thick, its hard to pick them up without crunching them.

I just removed some of my very large old soft corals to sell, and they are covered in tube worms and large sponge growth.
