Default Chemical warfare...or is it?

So my two montipora caps (two diff types) had a accidental meeting in the tank. Now one of them is peeling/bleaching. Any chance it will make it. I pulled the monti cap that fell on the established monti off, some slime was produced originally which led to the slight bleaching in spots of the established.

thoughts?

well, thanx for the help guys...............

seems ok now, the monti will most likely pull through....just was unexpected to see such a quick reaction when two similar corals meet.
