Default cyno question,

just starting to see a bit of cyno, whats do i need to do to keep it under control?

Vacuum it out, and do more frequent water changes. Maybe start skimming more wet as well. I have the same problem and thats basically what they all told me to do.

Siphoning it out is the best thing to do.. frequently siphon it out so it takes longer for it to all come back. Eventually it will go away, but it's important to keep on top of it. Also, more water changes and so on will help..

Now you could try something else. Recently we set up a new tank and it started to get some cyano we put a conch in and it disappered, you could try that, they clean pretty good

umm...the red kind.....also, i dont skim, i do 5 gallon water changes every week, i've cut down on feeding, (once every second day) and i'm cutting my lights back an hour every day

Zebra conch's work very well on the bottom, but more water flow will help keep it off of the rocks and other stuff.
