I knew that would get your attention.
The bottom of my drains are 2' off the floor and the water level in my aquarium is 4' off the floor. Can the top of my sump be 3' off the floor? I know it would still drain but are there any problems that I cannot forsee? |

Just that you'll have to buy more elbows. I can't think of any functional problems. You may want to upsize the drain pipe one diameter to ensure that the elbows don't impede the flow.
