Default Grrr Dang Tang

Love the fish, she's real healthy etc but holy, is it ever trying to dominate the tank The wife has to have a few fish in my Reef (LOL) but I'm not sure how long I can keep up with it. Does the blue Tang share the same personality? What if I put a blue in with the yellow?
Thanx

How big is your tank? Many people have multiple types of tangs as long as the tank is big enough.

Soon to be 77
I'm thinking I will just find a new home for the yellow Tang. Replace it with a blue. Are the blues any less hostile

I can't put anything into my 180 without my yellow trying to kill it...doesn't matter what kind of new fish or how I try to introduce it...peaceful tang my butt!! But I still like it after all these years.

Not only is our yellow tang peaceful, but it acts as a peace keeper in the tank when other fish are aggressive ... it actually swims in between the combatants to break it up

Nicknamed "Sunshine" (ok, so that's not very orginal ), we call it our Canadian Peacekeeper.

I've read that sometimes it helps to rearrange the aquascaping in your tank when introducing new fish - supposedly all the fish are more on an equal basis trying to figure out the `lay of the land' ... then more likely not to get into territorial disputes.

I have a yellow tang that is the chief of the tank - I do have plenty of places for fish to run to, to hide in and so on ... 75 pounds of live rock in a 33 gallon aquarium; I've found that the yellow tang has toned down his aggressiveness since the other fish are able to disappear readily if he does gets aggressive.
