400w or 250 HQI

I was wondering which is a better light the 400w Mogul or the 250w HQI

Better for light intensity and coral growth. I'm trying to convince the wife to let me buy a 400w system, when i goto my 50 gallon to replace my 250 HQI

50 gallon with center brace? Why not try to get another 250?

(haven't set up the kalk drip yet. )

I'm thinking of removing the center brace. Shouldn't be that big of a deal to do.

Getting a second 250 right know is not an option I have to make do with one or the other

I would say the 250 is more intense, although the 400 might give you better coverage. Unless you can do a swap without it costing any more, I'd stay with the 250.
