The new and improved ones work great. The new models use AAA battery and the battery contacts do not break off so easily. I had to return two of the older models because the contacts for the batttery keep breaking off. It's easy to program. I like its size and the time is very precise. I am currently using two for my MH lights. I prefer these ones over the old dial ones.
