Default Dimmer on Metal Halide Lights??

Just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to put a dinner switch on halide lights. I always read about them on LEDs and it would be very helpful if it was possible on a halide fixture. Anyone tried it??

I'm not sure they're made anymore but look up sfiligoi ACLS. Halide dimming and only a thousand bucks lol.
