Default Live Sand FS

60 lbs of Nature's Ocean Bio-Activ Aragonite for $50

-Tank 1.5 months old
-No cyano, no algae very little diatoms.
-Selling because I have a full Zeovit system and live sand+Zeovit=bad. Im replacing live sand for dead sand.

Not to hijack your thread, but where did that come from?

Live sand is simply dead sand that has been colonized by bacteria. Adding dead sand will result in live sand in a few weeks, as soon as it's colonized by bacteria. All substrate in a tank is "live" within weeks of being added.

Hi Brad,

ya that's exactly how I thought of it also, but Iv seen so many Zeovit tanks have problems with using new live sand. Not sure why but it always causes cyano and crazy algae blooms. I just want to prevent any problems in the future since i don't have to much coral yet.

Instead of selling it, just wash in FW and dry, add back to tank. Then it's dead
