found this guy today and have no idea what it is. It extends itself and retracts into its body very odd...

Yup, Peanut. Good guy to have around. First time I came across mine it kind of startled me. I had never noticed him in my tank that didn't have anything added to it for over a year, so imagine my surprise. I could never get a good look at it because it only ever came out in the dark and they are super sensitive to light, but I could always catch a glipse of something darting back into the rock. When I finally caught him out in the open I think my only words could have been "What the f*** is that?".
