Default Light question

I have this fixture:

do I have to have a glass cover or what else could I do, and how high should I hang if my tanks height is 2ft

If it doesnt have fans then you dont need a sheild on it. Sheilds can help keep salt creep away but you wont get any if your fixture is the right hight. Hang it as close as you can to the water without any salt spray hitting it. The closer to the water the higher the par, but you do not want to get your fixture wet. You may have to play with the high a bit until you find that sweet spot.
