Has anyone seen any Thalasoma species for sale recently? Aside from the T.lunare? Let me know if you do, will pay for shipping.

I'm no wrasse expert but I think Red Coral has had some in the past. You might want to call over there.

I believe Colby at Bayside Corals in Saskatoon has a seagrass wrasse or something along those lines as well as a saddleback wrasse - both around 7" i think.

Darn you Will, now I want one. Unfortunately I have never seen any like those at any of the LFS before.

Holy smokes those are nice fish. I never knew those existed until you put the pictures up. I thought my banana wrasse was really nice, but these guys are amazing.

They're out there, but no one ever seems to bring them in. The pictures here are of adult terminal phase, which look nothing like their juvenile counterpart. Spectacular to say the least. Now it's just a matter of tracking them down.

I have to say I would pay a lot of money for the T.purpureum, man that is a nice fish!!

Maybe their survival rates are not so great and many of them don't make it out of the whole salers. Too bad my banana wrasse would probably beat the poor fish silly. Let me know if you find someone to bring these guys in... Usually Oceans is good for wrasses and Golds is good for lots of stuff... I'll have to ask the next time I'm at one of those places.

I've seen some nice higher end large wrasses at Progressive Reef in Victoria, I didn't pay attention to what species, but really beautiful fish. Maybe let them know what you're looking for.
