Default Cutting Acrylic

Can I use a jigsaw to cut through thin (1/8") acrylic? Or is a circular saw a better tool?

Both should work if you have the right blade.
if you dont have the right blade you'll just break it.
Personaly i use a dremel when workin with acrylic.

don't use the jigsaw.. it will be ugly.. you can use a skill saw but blade selection is important.

1/8" - don't suppose you'd know if it was cast or extruded would you?

For 1/8" material a jigsaw just won't work, it will crack as your cutting.

Circular saw, if it's extruded you're probably going to want to cover over (plywood works good) and clamp down the 'keep' side of your cut.

Table saw or router would be preferable. 1/8" is kinda finicky to cut - hand saws work well though

For 1/8", just score and snap. That's what I do.

I agree,if its real thin just scribe it using a straight edge ruler and a utility knife. For thicker stuff just use a circular saw with a high tooth count and use masking tape over the cutting line to avoid splintering.

For a circular saw or table saw, would just a hight tooth count do it, or, should you use a special blade for acrylic? If so, which blade do you recommend?
