dplaskett is on a distinguished road
Default upgrading to a larger tank.

How do I move the rock with corals over to the new tank. I figured if I had the two tanks matched in salinity and temperature I could just move pieces over without having to acclimate them. Has anyone done this before? Any advice?
Thanks,
Dave

I just did this but I had more new rock than old rock so what I did was let the new tank cycle with all the new rock. I did 5g/day swaps between the two tanks as well to bring them closer together as far as params go (measured or not but main 3 params already matched). Then I simply drained whatever my small tank held on the day of transfer and brought over the old rock/corals along with that same volume from the original tank. Most of my corals didn't even slime.
