Default Lights Advice

Hi there,

I'm looking for some advices on lights here. I have a 90 gals mix. I have a light fixture with 2 x 150W MH on it and 2 x 94W actinics. Coral grow is fine everything is doing fine in there. Now I have a 80 gals, I'm thinking to have softies and zoas mainly in there but I could change my mind in the future. I'm thinking to get a 8 x 54W T5HO light fixture. Will that be enough for that tank size? will that be enough if I want to keep SPS in there in the future?

Thanks,

Manny

Depends on the depth of the tank, T5's are fine for SPS at the right depth.

Default 6 or 8 bulb t5s

if you're planning for eventual future changes you should go for 8 bulbs. 6 bulbs would be fine for your present softy setup just simply loosen any one of the bulbs then 2 bulbs should not fire up leaving you with 6. retighten loosen bulb and you'll get your 8 bulb config back more than adequate for future sps considerations.
