Question -filter help

-just a quick question, i took my aquaclear spongefilter off my cichlid tank
and put it on my saltwater tank 2 take all the particles from the sand out.
-but how long can i keep my cichlid tank without a filter, can i do it for a week or two if i do regular water changes? p.s-it's already been 3 days.

Default

It doesn't matter when you move it back, you've destroyed it.

You need to get some established FW bio media for your filter and you need to do so quickly.

-but i've completely cleaned out the filter media like 5-6 times already and they've seemed 2 be fine so myb if i just wash the salt and sand out of it it'll be ok

Default Neccesity

Basicly what midget is saying is the benifical bacteria in Fresh water dies in Saltwater and vise Versa. What other type of filtration or bubbler do you have on your cichlid tank?
