Default LF: Sedra 9000 or equivalent

As the title states, looking for someone in Calgary with a Sedra 9000 needlewheel pump or equivalent. Must have needlewheel and venturi.

I bought a Sedra 5000, the one used on the ASM skimmers. The 5000 is used on the G3, which has the same dimensions as the EuroReef RS180 (what I have), but the pump doesn't seem to have enought power.

So, anyone in Calgary have a bigger pump let me know. Or if you know of anything I can do to this existing pump to give it what it needs.

thanks All,

Rick

Default Pump & skimmer mods

The Sedra 5000 you can do a needle wheel mesh mod. Drill the venture air intake hole one size bigger. Try a straight shot with the pump output straight into the skimmer body. This what I did to my ASM 2G's. It might work for a EuroReef.

This what what happened after a minute of running then settled.

Alberta Reef, thanks for the tips.

I just added a piece of pipe inside of the skimmer, as this pump has a larger body, so the pipe going into the skimmer isn't as far in as before. thought that might help and it does seem to make a difference.

I do like the straight input, I think that would add a bit more to it. Will give that a shot also.

Thanks,

Rick
