Does the Apex interact with an iPhone the same as an android?

Can I program it with my Apple computer or should I use my Acer laptop with windows 7 and if I do can I then use the iphone.

My contract expires in a few months, so can go either was, iPhone or Samsung 4. This is not about phones. I prefer my iPhone and want a new 5s but keeping track of my tank is more important than phone brands.
