That's the issue here - it's not just reducing the supplementation of organic carbon or whatever other zeovit additives that is going to have the negative impact, but the sudden change in overall nutrient availability. You're going from a nutrient rich (tap water) to a nutrient poor (RO/DI) state before bacterial/skimmer/nutrient export processing. Like any balanced equation, if you take one term out (in this the extra nutrients in the water) you're going to have a deviation from equillibrium.

And, I'm quite active. I don't even own an arm chair.
