That's one of the reasons I got a pH monitor. For tests like CA, Mg a lot easier as your not trying to determine shades of colour, just pink to blue etc..

I use the bulk Mg from Littlesilvermax to raise. Though I don't find really need to maintain Mg between water changes, often see ZeoMAG in the Ca reactor mixed 1 to 9 with Ca media.
