Agreed, fluidized bed filters are a waste of money if you plan on getting live rock anyway. Seio pumps are really good but maxi jets are good for the price you pay. There are ways to modify maxi jets...

How are your nutrient levels? Xenia are one of the few corals that require a certain amount of nutrient uptake for food. If your skimmer isn't pulling lots you might just need to feed it.

I actually use the indirect sunlight for dawn/dusk lighting in my tank. I no longer use actinics, not sure what I'll do in the winter though.
