I just removed my phosphate media reactor completely. It had been months since I changed the media, so it clearly wasn't doing anything and the tank is doing great.

Thanks. The tank isn't really a cube... 6' x 4'. If I could do it again though, I would go 6' x 6'. It has to be acrylic or the centre of the tank would be unreachable.

I have no idea how many cukes are in my system, but I would guess it is more than a dozen. About 4 of those would be tiger tails, the rest are all donkey dungs. I've had them for almost five years...

I'm not so sure about that... It is almost 5 years now and there has likely been a lot of extinction. Conditions haven't always been perfect, and I'm sure a lot of stuff doesn't live for that long...
