Maybe you crossed some wires when putting the ends on....I say take the ends off and spilce the same colored wires together and check...

But the bulbs are all the wrong spectrum...they are to yellow!

well for one anyone can buy a MH ballast over the counter you just have to go to a wholesaler....2 they are quite cheap...you can replace the ballast in the for probably around $70...if you go that...

Instead of useing a Humidifier style float valve, you can get the float valves that can control an outlet and turn the pump on for you, this way you aren't limited to the amount of water the pump...
