I had one temporarily on my tank when i was switching over to a new sump. The problem with these overflows is that it sits too deep in the water. A correction for this would be to get a very thin...

Is the drip line from your reactor above the water line? Keep it 4"-6" above to allow for some of the co2 to dissipate in the air. Your reactor should not change the pH of your system, just one idea.

Furnace humid.
Another thing to check is the humidifier on your furnace. Turn it right down, You should see a noticable drop in humidity in 24 hrs.

If it is not iron bacteria and just iron it will depend on if it is ferrous or ferric iron in the water. An water softener will only take out ferric iron, if it is ferrous he may need a chlorine...

If it is iron bacteria, there is not alot you can do but shock the well. If there is a small amount of iron getting through, the softener will take it out (I believe a max of 3 ppm.) Check the tanks...
