Adding RO water
Any harm in adding RO water that has been sitting in a 5G jug for 3 or 4 days?

$5000 for a picture of mountains on my wall or $10000 on an always changing, perfect ecosystem full of so much life and color that you would gladly use the $5000 painting to wipe up the water you...

You might just want to try going with a bigger pump.

I'm pretty sure it's dinos. Since it's showed up, I can only see one surviving snail and he hasn't moved in a few days. He's just staying on the same spot on the glass. When you say no light, do...

Right now I have a 4or 5" sandbed in my 90G and I only plan on having a 1" sandbed in the 180G and that's only in areas where there isn't any live rock. The equipment that i'm using in the new tank...

No calcium reactor. I'm planning on moving the contents of this tank into my 180G within the next month or so though. Would this be a bad idea with the condition it's in?

My tangs seem to be eating a lot of it. Will this be harmful to them?
No caulerpa in the tank either. I did move the tank a few weeks ago however and that would have disturbed the sandbed.

It definitely develops a lot more when the light is on during the day. If I blow it all of the rocks, it's back in a few hours. What would have caused this?

Brown Algae - Pics Added
Here are some pics of the algae. Here's my old link about the subject:

Not sure why I didn't just add it to that link? Oh well.

The weirdest part about the whole thing is my corals have never looked better. Granted they still have a long way to go but they've finally started to color up and are looking healthy.

You wouldn't have a sandbed at all or just a 3" one?

 you need to stop reading

Makes for a good point though. It pushes nutrients up through the sandbed so they don't build up.

Refugium
Is it more advantageous to have a shallow refugium or a deep one? The reason I ask is I have two choices:
1. I can have a 55 tank, measuring 60" long, 18" wide and 12" high, which would fit over...

One other thing too. When I was sucking up the algae off of the sandbed, there were long brown hair-like things growing in the sand that stayed anchored in there. They are still exposed on the top...
