whare do I put my float valve?

Next time you are over Steve, bring your camera and check out my sump. When the power goes off I am left with about 3/4" of room till it overflows. That is a bit close for my comfort, but with the...

Your four foot tank with a DSB won't be too heavy, will it?

Oh well,.. I guess my part of the move won't be to sit there and drink beer the whole time tongue.gif

I know! Let's...

Calcium reactors?

I have to agree with everything that Darren said. Best part (besides awesome sps growth) is no more dosing of buffers and calcium additives. I was doing that every day before, now I just refill my...

LED's

I have heard talk of using LED's to light a reef tank, but that it is just to expensive. Does anybody know how expensive it could be? Say you wanted to replace a 250 watt MH, even if it cost $2000...

tomato clownfish stirring a mess

Hi Marco, an anemone would probably not do very well in your system, as you said. I have heard people using some soft corals as a surrogate host for your clown, namely Sarcophyton sp. otherwise known...

It looks like the acro has won, and the monti only got it's tip burned off a bit, nothing major...

And in this corner....

I know a few of you out there have SPS in their tanks that have grown enough to be touching/fighting with each other.

I was wondering how many of you just let em at it, or actively frag them, or...

cloudy surface?

Hey Adam, try taking the smallest powerhead you have, (MJ 400) and put it up at the top of your tank. You could even stick it to the glass turned 90 degrees with the nozzle pointing up slightly to...

covering the tank

No cover.. it will be a big pain for all the reasons mentioned above.

Besides, you will only lose about 4 litres of water a day on a system the size of the one you are setting up. ;) just...

I liked the idea of putting the concrete mix...

who is running 250 watt, Iwasaki 6500K bulbs

It is the R bulb, I don't know for sure, but I think that the non-R is not as white in color. It may have some other arguments against it as well.
The ballast is model AQI-250, I think it may be MH.

Stand is finaly done

I saw Steve's stand tonite and it looks pretty cool. I think if you have the means, a welded internal frame is the way to go. (like Steve's)

The cabinet doors look nice too, I want to get some for...
