So unfortunately my chaeto ball withered away just in time for my new light. PO4 is at 0.13ppm so I’m guessing it was the light. Need to track down some local chaeto to try again :sad:

Definitely want to remove them if possible as you should have "0" ammonia for the tank to be officially cycled. Ammonia (even low amounts) kill fish :sad:

I would start by getting quality test kits for nitrites, ammonia, nitrates and phosphates. This will allow others to assist in determining if your tank has been cycled.
