All I can say is don't trust the LFS when they say it is cured. I did and I think it is the cause of all my algae problems.

When I mixed mine, it was in a 5 gallon bucket. I used the mixing pump supplied with the IO salt. The temp never got high, It was actually quite cool to the touch. The only thing high was the ALK.

Another bad pail of IO

I bought a pail of IO from J&L this weekend and mixed a batch. Let it circulate for 24 hrs and had a Alklinity reading of 7.2meg/l I called J&L and they are going to replace it. Make sure everyone...

I would say you can. I'm not a plastic expert though. Watch what you are using it for though, because plexi glass will turn yellow and go brittle after awhile.

It was under MH lighting before. I guess I may need to buy better lighting.
