Yea, the 250 is way too much for zoas. I needed to remove everything except the clams and SPS when I upgrade the light. There are no "near the bottom low light" places to put lower light...

If you are just using it to cure rock why not...
If you are just using it to cure rock why not forget about using the sump and place the skimmer in the 50 gal with the rock?
No need to worry about a temporary overflow and it will cost you...
